chances are it is not the gasket!! it's the mechanical seal. all yamaha triple's are famous for it. if you have anti-freeze leaking from the bottom of the w/p housing,go and order the mechanicly seal, thats your problem. make sure you locktite the bolt that holds the impeller on. btw, this is not an easy job. very hard to gain access to the impeller to get it off. (seal is behind impeller) i had it done at dealer after i screwed it up and had to order parts for 2nd time. if you have not performed this procedure before, do yourself a favor and let your dealer do it. i think it was like 1 1/2 or 2 hrs labor.

If you do it yourself i would suggest pulling the motor out of the sled.
It is a pretty easy job once the motor is out. trying to pull out the seal with the motor still in the sled can be a real pain in the *** if you never did one before. be very careful not to damage the case where the seal goes when you are prying it out.
Do a search on the subject.
Lots of good info on here and pics too.
Good luck

That is what it does when the mechanical seal goes bad as well. The antifreeze can get past the seal and gets behind it, where it comes out of the weep hole on the bottom of the pump housing. Fools many people into thinking it is the cover gasket

Listen to this, been through it, you need the mechanical seal.

This seal is the devil, take it to the dealer. If you want to search under my name you will see my attempts to do it myself, I finally gave up and had the dealer do it. It STILL leaked, took it back and they re did that and the oil seal further up the impeller shaft all for free (warranty). Never leaked again.

Yupp, That seal is a pain right in the arse. My leak was getting into the case with the coolant following the knurling on the impeller shaft & smoked the crank bearing a couple years back. When I split the case I was shocked @ the crud in the bottom of the case leading up to the impeller seal & the crud blocked the line on the bottom of the case.

there is a proscess you need to follow , go to the dealer and have them make you a copy out of the tech manual, you will need loc tite , i rebuilt my motor ,fired it up and it ran great , then it started leaking coolent , when back to the dealer and they gave me the tech page , and i should have used loc tite and a few other things .. well i was so pissed ,i just went and bought a new sled , so i never did follow the tech page instrutions ... good luck
