Looking to get into some radar runs with NO SNOW to be had. I can pick up a used 2000 srx with 5500 miles for $2200 bucks. This sled is a one owner and is mint. Just wondering how they are in radar runs. I was thinking maybe a bit heavy but not sure. Can anyone give me more info?

thery do get some good speeds but if they are set up directly for speed running they won't compete with the f7" there are three fast f7's around and they are all isr legal that runn114-115 my buddies has hit 116 but it was at nssr so it was recorded as a a record. The best I seen srx's do is 111-112 consistantly but I don't think you will get higher than that in 1000ft.

Talk to CB Performance-they tricked out a SRX and I think got it to hit 123 on radar-not sure distance though.

we did hit 123 but in a all out run, hitting ~115 in 1000 feet is one heck of a challenge with an SRX or any sled for that matter.

srx 1000 ft. radar run
That is a good price, even with the milage, but one owner, here in the east the price could be a lot higher . believe 2000 was the fastest year. My son-in-law has the 2001 and is fast but needs a long lake for top speed. I've had it to 115 mph on speedo, not gps. You also have to watch hyfax wear ,especially near the curve at front of rails, a fourth wheel kit or track tension adjustment might help the hyfax wear. plowkingkrazyzx9 said:Looking to get into some radar runs with NO SNOW to be had. A little off the question but, F-7's were mentioned: I keep hearing how fast the F-7's are but I haven't seen it. Other people must know some tricks or something. I've been riding with a 2003 F-7 EFI sno-pro the last two years and it isn't competitive with my SRX top end. I've helped the owner with clutch kits from D & D and heel clicker, it has a PAC kit, D & D Y pipe and silencer, large air intake, tuned to perfection. I would really like to see it run with my SRX cause I don't like seeing the guy feel bad. I don't get it?

where talking set up for racing here not just lake racing are trail sleds. He was talking about setting up a srx for speed runs.a f7 with the race box is 150 hhp and there is a few other tricks. You can get 150 hp out of the srx in stock form to by being legal but it weighs more that's where the f7's have the advantage.

there is no 2003 snow-pro f-7 the first year for the snow pro is 2004

The first f-7's had really hot ignition/fuel curves, then the next year they de-tuned them considerably. Alot of the early ones were not consistant with performance. there are some write ups on dyno tech about ten or more horsepower differences between what was suppose to be the same sleds.
For the most part these guys know to only race short distances against SRX's, can you blame them? Even the hottest running f-7's won't win in 1/2 mile runs. too much suspension height, and track lugs are bigger.

In 2003 there was the F5 Sno Pro and F7 EFI Sno Pro. In 2004 Cat built the F6 Sno Pro and then also the carb F7 models.
The fuel curve never changed in the F7 from 2003-2004. The fuel curve was considerably rich on top end. The timing among all EFI models was the same. Most EFI 2003-2004's dynoed in the 135-138 hp range stock. By simply adding a fuel reducer and cutting the top end fuel flow they would get into the mid 140's for hp. Now throw a timing key into the mix and you're high 140's. In 2005 they leaned down the top end of the fuel curve from the factory and you saw most in the low to mid 140's stock and they did not need a fuel reducer. Most of the professional guys you will see at a radar run have a reprogrammed ECU box which enhances performance quite a bit. The carb F7 models were never as much HP as the EFI models due to being detuned by Cat from the factory.

They have a new project started this year called Project Hurricane. They take an old Mach body and install a Yamaha 4 stroke and supercharge it. It's not quite finished but from what i have been reading this is going to be one fast sled
