Hey guys, have a 1981 enticer 340 deluxe that has a problem with the headlight. When you start the sled up the headlight works fine. After about 5 minutes of riding the headlight dims for a little while and then it will get bright again. It continues to switch from bright to dim tell you shut the sled off. Has anyone ever experienced this problem with theres? Or any model that is similar?
Thanks
Thanks

Only thing I can say is to start testing. Start with the inspection and wiggle tests first, as it may be a connection or short. Then move on to checking each component individually. However you may find that the charging system is failing when warmed up.

I have found the the battery stays charged. And I have wiggle everything that I can think of and the sled still does the same thing. one other thing I can add is, the tail light does dim at the same time. I will have some time to work on it over the first of the year. I will have more questions at that time.

I would begin look closely down by the engine, where the harness connects to the engine, its either corroded connectors or the actual connection of the lighting coil to the harness is cracked and jiggling around(its a solder joint) You would have to remove the recoil and flywheel to observe this. Another thing that can happen is the tailight harness under the seat has rubbed thru and just beginning to short out on either the seat frame at the back(metal) or the tunnel underneath the seat.

Check the voltage regulator, its attached to the left foot board behind the tool box.
