I just got a 1998 SRX mountain that was extended to a 144 with a bender can. The sticker on the hood said premium fuel only does that mean i have to use 92 octane or does it not matter? also on the belt gaurd it said to use br10ecy but it has br9es and seems to run fine should i switch them or are the fine? does any one know of a good clutch combo for it? righ now it engages at 4500 rpm and pulls to 9000 rpm i want it to pull harder not worried about top speed. Also is there a can that is louder than the bender? I ride with a F7 with a rumble pak and a rev with an hps and hate that they drowend my sled out!!!

that thing is definately over revving big time, you dont want that thing to be revving one bit over 8500 rpm on top end. 8200 out of the hole, creeping up to 84-8500 on top end is ideal. And yes you should run premium fuel in it. A good mod is to shave the head .020-.030" and run an extra base gasket, really wakes them up by raising the ports.

I owned one of em & worked on lots. They were hugely popular in my area. I gotta know elevation & what clutching is in there now. Stock they were brutally clutched but easy to fix.

Then is it alright to be runing br9es instead of br9ecs? I live at about 500' but ride at 3500', I think the clutching is stock but ill have to tear it apart to find out.

I had one and got it dialed in perfect for the steep and deep

bender orange primary spring

8DN-20 weights with 10.3 steel in the heel and 17.2 steel in the tip

straight 47 helix with silver spring in the secondary set at 70

would pull 8500-8600 all day every day in the steep and deep

the es's and ecs's are a different critters i believe the ecs's stand up to the high heat better. and will last longer and the 9's are what most people run the 10's seem to be too cold of a plug.
