I'm going to replace the stock skiis with Simmons and I'm not very familiar with how to combine my setup with the carbide options. My Viper has a 1.125" Camoplast Predator track - non studded and is used mostly for tight trails in New England plus some off-trail use. Should I get the standard 4" mild carbide or the 4" cutter carbides? I assume I don't need the 6" cutter carbides.
As you can tell, this is my first attempt to replace skiis/wear bars/carbides on my sled so excuse my ignorance.

i believe the standard wear rod is just that...no carbide. used in the mountains mainly. go with the 4" cutter carbides and adjust limiter strap for ski pressure accordingly. the only place you should have problems with not being studded would be icy corners. just be careful in those situations.
Would it be feasible to order them with the standard wear rod and get the cutter carbides from Bergstrom or do the Bergstrom cutters only work with the Bergstrom Wear Rods?

Simmons carbides are beefy and they are not that expensive.
Not a 100% sure what you are asking, but carbides come already installed on a runner (wear bar). If you order the Bergstrom's (tri-point or otherwise), they comes with the carbides already welded onto the runner.
Thanks everyone, as you can tell I'm new to changing stock setups.

Make sure you shim the Simmons to get the tips off the ground otherwise you will dart and wear out the front of the carbides. Simmons was supposed to come out with new carbides to eliminate this problem. Especially bad on hard trails and lakes/roads.
