i have a 01 mountain max 700, i think it is stock for the most part. What is top end on it? i put about 20 miles on it last year after i got it because lack of snow and it seemed like at 65 or 70 it was maxed. i also have an rx1 so that may be why it feels so slow. i just want to know if that sounds about right or if maybe the gearing was changed.
Owned 1. With the 2" lug track; 8 tooth drivers your lucky to see 75 mph. They are a "MOUNTAIN SLED!!!" Most mountain sleds never ever see 80 mph! I piped; ported; 9 tooth drivers & 1" track & saw about 100 mph. Clutching is usually wacked for flatland riding. Should be 8500 rpm.
