Is this hard to put on?do the pipes need to come off?what are some of the tools required for those that have done this?thanks guys
Depends on which one you're using? I have the SLP and all I had to do was pull the secondary, and a 1/2' or 9/16" wrench, forget which one. Most on this site don't like it and use something else. It has worked fine for me though with no pipes or anything.
Just be sure to set your sheave alignment up to SRX specs after with whichever one you use.

If you go with the Yamaha one, you will need to removed the primary & secondary. A clutch puller would be the only special tool you need.

Eric go with the OEM Yami engine limiter. I went through this before I bought my pipes and all the guys on here told me to go with the Yamaha one cause the aftermarket/ adjustable ones are prone to breaking. Also said there really is no reason you should have to adjust anything, thats why the OEM one is bolt on, no adjustments needed besides aligning the clutches.

Call your dealer and price one out first, it'll prolly be cheaper to buy one from Rich Motorsports or MPI. I got mine from MPI just cause I made a large purchase from them, but go with Rich hes a supporter of the site and his service is top notch. MPI's service blows IMO, I learn that from the few times I delt with them.

Talked to my dealer and he said my price would be $40 bucks ..probably be better off going that way, but alot of things are cheaper at rich motorsports for sure compared to dealer..thanks for your help

Make sure your cluthes are line up to spec, use the tool to align. The tourque limiter keeps it all in line.

I used the dealers alignment tool, the maximum perf. tool and they were dead on..the tool dropped right onto the primary and fit the secondary perfect..the offset was good too, will i have to adjust them after putting the torque arm in?viper7mi said:Eric

No, just check them again for the same fit before you put the clutches back on.

I checked the center to center with the primary left right on the sled...dealer said you only had to remove the secondary for center to cetner...so you can do it with the primary clutch off also
