hey guys
i went for a ride the other day and my sled (2001 phazer 500) and i heard some clicking or grinding sounds in or around the motor area and wheni lets the throttle go fast, sometimes theres a click sound. just one click everytime i does that. also, another thing is that my sled blows alot of plugs. at my gas station we sometimes get some water in our gas. would this caause the sled to act this way? does anyone know why my sled is acting like this or has anyone ever had the same problems? my sled has just hit the 8000 km mark. can someone please help me with these problems i am having with my sled? also another thing i was wondering. i am currently using BR9ES spark plugs. they are the ones that are suppost to be used in the sled. i was wondering can i use BR9EYA spark plugs in mine? would it hurt my engine or would it be better? or am i better off with the BR9ES spark plugs? help would be great!!
thanks

alright thanks i will stick witht he BR9ES!! any help with my other questions??
Have you done any tests (compression, leakdown, etc.) yet or looked at the tops of the pistons? How are the reeds?
It could simply be the fan, clutch, or the recoil, but I would make sure that the engine is ok and.or find the source before running it any more.
That engine is usually very easy on plugs, so I would be concerned about an issue inside the engine. What is it doing to the plugs?
I would check everything, and fix it before it breaks because used cylinders and cases are not real easy to find.

Click sound
Son,
Define the CLICK sound in a manner we may be helpful with. A Click sound can be caused by many parts of your sled. Start with the simple things you can adjust or feel play in. For instance, Have you inspected the drive clutch rollers ? The Chain tension in the chain case ? The drive shaft bearing behind the speedo drive ? Track tension can cause a click sound. Track alignment will cause the track clips to CLICK the hyfax when the track is turning . Many noises will be drowned out with speed of the sled so AT TAKEOFF or after the sled is moving will help us also. My wife and daughters will say the car is making a CLICKING noise from the exhaust ? WTF !! I have found the hubcaps loose and rattling when driving below 35 MPH. We need better descriptions !
