Hey guys, got an 02 SRX thats having some electrical issues. On warm days the machine is fine, starts up and all guages, lights work. On really cold days, or after trailering (really weird) i go to start the machine up, it starts normal (3-5 pulls) but there will be no warning lights, guages, taillight or headlight. Then after it sits there and idles for 2 min or so everything will just come on and it will be fine. Ive never heard of this problem anywhere and havnt read any posts about it. I went to my local yammy dealer and they told me this was a normal condition due to the machine having a new stator design. Im not sure whether to believe them or think there full of Anybody had this problem b4?? or is it even a problem?? Its more a pain in the a$$ specially at night, the thing im worried bout is it affecting more then just the guages and such, or is it having an effect on the whole machine even after it is started up. Any insight into this would be helpful

let mrviper or yamaholic post on this. One of them should be able to remember the cure for our problem. I dont think either of the 2 are online right now

Had the same activity happen a couple times on my 04 Viper S. Soon sold it there after so i never really looked to far into it. Remember gauge and lights always came on after a few minutes and the performance was never a problem. I'd like to know myself. Good luck.

ya, its the load control relay, its most likely damp inside from washing the sled or pressure washing it and the relay needs to heat up from current flow to move(frozen slightly), if its a moisture control problem you can remove the relay along with the headlight relay( they are the little white and blue relays on the left side above the footrest area behind black panel, and take them and sit them on a heat register for the night, leave them insude for a good day and they will dry out and function correctly. if they dont, youll need to replace them.

Alright thanks mrviper, it seems on damp days that the problem is worse then warmer days. So that would make perfect sense, i asked them about the relays before at the dealership as i heard that that could cause the problem but they said it had nothing to do with it. Anyways thanks a lot
