hey is your viper black with the ceran wrap style paint on it??I think I seen you up to lakeview at the grass drags..my blue viper was right next to yours...how did you do anyway??if my belt wasn't slipping I would have done better than 3rd in 700 mod...
 
i wasnt there this year, my sled was reproduction of what a stock 02 viper would look like in black, right down to the decals and seat.
raced there the first year they did it and went to all the caribou ones.

i heard today they are not having the cross country race this year.

buy, big rock in mars hill will be having four hill cliimbs.
 
yeah i can't believe big rock is having hill climbs this year...they haven't for awhile..that will be awsome..do you know when they are ?or have they decided yet?
 
they just put up poster a couple days ago,

hill climbs are where i first met mark.

where did you say you worked? at a body shop?
 
no I major in autobody and minor in in business at NMCC...pretty much just like working in a body shop..I work for aroostook chimney works..I grew up in easton a went to school there. You met mark at the hill climbs?hmm I was probably there with him...but that was awhile back when they last had those..when is the climbs?Is it good to gear down for like 500ft for those?
 
ill probly go to watch, nothing to race this year.

friend will run his rtx im sure, have you found out what style climb they are doing?,
 
that was my viper.i was unable to race it my self because my wife and i were having our first baby at anytime(she arrived on the day of the race,good thing i didnt go)so i let my budy use my sled and trailer.bethevipers is all black & much faster than mine.he spanked me at the first anual lakeveiw grass drags.scince then ive been trying to figure out how he got so fast but i cant seem to get it done.
 
i had four "racer excuses" that day.
1. friend brought a 700pro stock that was faster than everyone elses sled all day by 50ft at least.
2.marks 800 viper, about a sled faster than me at the end, some how ran in the 700 imp class
3.800vmax improver, about a ski faster
4.my last excuse i didnt find untill a few weeks later. pulled the heads off to install the trail heads and found that the day before the race i ran the sled a little too far past the 500ft mark and burned all three pistons half way to the rings evenly. talk about right on the verg. when i tested the sled i noticed that i had to remove some weight to get the rpms up and just thought it was my stupid dissision to use the bender can haunting me. guess it wasnt. sled still ran ok for a stock cylindered viper with srx pipes and higher compression heads.


all in all that day of racing was the worst day i ever had racing, dont mind loosing, but being stabed in the back by your friends for 75 bucks, that sucks.

f7 are that fast, they run good when set up for just grass. they will run a 5.5 5.6 all day.
 
That one that was up there ran extremely well that day they had a new 1000 cat there to and it was spanking that too was just wonder cause there was couple of
other f7's there that was no where close to that one

From what i HEAR the sleds are going ot race side by side up the hill...I mean someones gonna get messed up going up that mountain full tilt over them jumps..i guess it will come down to has the biggest berry's haha

are you refering to the 04 or 06 drags?i remember you requesting a bore check on the viper that threw a haybail at me cause he couldnt hold it in his own lane.

Lol, Sounds like you guys have your own version of a Denny Mousseau F-7 that has cleaned up @ Haydays the last couple years ;)
 
there were 2 7's their that were set up by the same guy in caribou,amazingly my sled munched one and the other was 10 sleds out.seems fishy.
 
the sled i refer to was an 800 viper. he not only cost me 75$ but cost another guy on a srx 75 bucks as he was not let into the final because the 800 viper was racing in his class and beat him out of the final.

I didnt' realize that was your sled..that thing looks sweet..I went to the drags a couple weeks later down by rockland maine..the girl with the f6..or f8 whatever it is..they have a arctic-cat sponsored trailor/truck..was down there..i was in the final with her for the 700 mod and got her by a ski-length and managed to take first...at lakevirew my belt was slipping and she pounded me pretty good..only got 3rd there..

betheviper,
i dont here you talk much about clutching but you were pretty hooked up a few years back.do you mess w the hc's much or prefer stock style weights?
