I have a 1998 VMax 500 xt, The right tensioner bolt broke and looks like the bolt was welded once before. How easy is it to repair or replace and can someone post some pictures and how to tips for this problem thanks,I bought this sled used and comes with a 30 day warranty but not sure if this would be covered? Any input is appreciated

you have to pull the rear axle, pop off the idlers and replace the tensioner, not hard but time consuming!
looks like where the nut on the bolt goes against is bent as well, can that be replaced?
i'm thinking it can by drilling out the four rivets that hold that plate on!

Got pictures? Don't know what you mean by plate. The tensioner on the proaction is simply a threaded rod welded to a loop that sits between the wheels on the rear axle.
you might be able to bend it back to close enuff, with a drift pin and hammer or some flat ended pice of steel, maybe a lil heat on it!
Definitely take it back to where you bought it to see If they will replace it for you...(they should)
As far as the bent plate, mine is bent as well...You could try to hit it with a hammer but without taking out the suspension that would be hard (It's very thick... Just put a thick washer against it, before the nut. That's what I did and it works great.
Good luck...
