Scraped the old twin 40mm mikuni butterfly idea and got a set of 38 mikuni slides , and wondering if there is some one else out there did the same and knew the main jet size i should use , and if i have to change the piolet jet , plus i put twin GPX pipes on it so i have to jet up a little more , but any ideas ?
Thanks

there is no way you were going 120 plus mph. and why would you drive it if it was way lean your gonna burn it down. 270 mains is way too lean. if it started and idled then your pilot is probably fine around a 35 should be good.

The slides use different style jets. In my 94 Vmax 600 with 38 flat slides it uses a 157.5 main which is a different type.

We Canadians speed in km/h AHood, which may seem a little more realistic. Chris, you prob have hex head jets, so I would prob try anything between a 350 and 400 to see where you're at. Are you going to be at the Eganville show, if so, you'll be able to see my new setup.

Yes , 120 km , not mph , i am going to try to get to the eganville show , i was thinking on driving the sled there but looks like pretty crappy weather, but , ill try to show up , it wasnt extreemly lean with 270s in it like the plugs were still tan coulor not white and the main way to check is to test it , not gunna gues , gotta test to see if its runnen ritch / lean ? jus built it , but still i would like a little richer , the show is the 13th ?

yup, saturday the 13th, I will be bringing 2 single cyl racers. always a good idea to start richer and jet down, so if you have some bigger jets it can't hurt to try.

Ok got it jetted pretty good , put 370s in it , plugs are good and light brown at all stages , but the one thing is theres not lower end , you can take off and it goes slowly but when it hits 4500rpm it kicks in and revs up quick , What would cause this , when i put the boyesen reeds in i noticed they were open just a little bit would that cause it because the stock ones were right closed ? other than that any ideas
try raising your needle clip1 position, that will lean out your midrange. its probably on the 2nd or 3rd position now
