just finished doing a little clutch work on my 99 srx 700 and i do not like what my engagement is at. (5000-5500) i am not drag racing i am an aggresive trail rider. right now i have 89a-10 weights, stock rollers(15.6) yamaha green secondary spring with a 48/42 advant-edge helix. any thoughts on a good primary spring to use ? i would like my engagement at around 4000-4500. thanks

You have an aftermarket high engagement primary spring. Get a Yamaha w-w-w. It will engage about 4k with that spring & it has a slightly less then stock total force.

thanks turk!! how will the yamaha w-w-w work with all my other clutching parts i listed? good aggresive trail set-up? i am going to install the 8dn-20's as soon as i get a set, but for now i am going to use the 89a-10's.

w-w-w is the spring I recommend to use with 8dn-20,s or allmost anything in a sRX.No such thing as a y-b-y; might be a y-g-y which is pretty low preload(engagement) & pretty high total force(running rpm,s)

THAT WHITE SPRING IS A MAXXIMUM PERF SRX-WHT. ACTUALLY WORKS GREAT FOR RACING. I,LL BUY THAT IF YA WANT TOO SELL IT. RUN A YAMAHA W-W-W LIKE MIKE SAYS. 3:16 (tony)
