It's an 02 Viper and when I'm riding along after its warm it just shuts completely done and then there is no spark. The only way to get spark again is to completely unplug the regulator/rectifier and plug it in and the sled fires right up. I've checked for wire rubs everywhere and have already done the wires under the engine last season. It does it just sitting there idling and all different times. I'm pretty sure my stator is dying. Does anyone think that is what it is?
thanks in advance

Stator would be my guess, but I dont recall this being an issue with the vipers. ??????

YUP!! Mine went at 3500 miles. Wires that run through the stator plate broke, shorted the CDI as well. I didn't perform the repair. Was away from home and Larry at North Country Yamaha told his mechanic to check it. 2 hours later we were riding!!

Thanks for the reply. I bought another stator so I"ll see I guess. I just couldn't figure out how I could get it running again by unplugging the regulator and plugging it back in.
