I pulled my track out to fix/longtrack yesterday and saw this damage. The sled has the stock 144x2" track. What could have done this? Too loose of a track? How bad is it? I havent had any problem with cooling or had any leaks. Is this restricting the coolant flow?

How is your track? You might have lost a lug on the track. Doesnt take much to make the aluminum look like that.
If it isnt leaking you will be fine.
Loose track, ripped track, studs to long or coming out will all cause this.

Geez, i am stupid. I guess I didnt think about it much...i am replacing because i shredded my track and had chunks loose. These chunks were flapping around till i cut them off. Thanks guys.

That will not inhibit coolant flow, no leaks, and you are good to go.

Kinda makes it a little easier to adjust track tension eh? lol That is fine. No problems. I had the same thing happen to both sides of my front exchanger... only with studs. I almost went through to the core, but i've been riding it like that since day 1 and no leaks. It's just the cooling fins... not the actual core that you damaged. You won't notice any cooling difference.
Those exchangers will take alot before they leak....unless you put studs in the mix of things! They go thru them like butter.

Thats nothing, last year after changing my track it must of loosened up cause she started racheting and after tightening on the side of the trail I had no more problems. When I got back to the garage I noticed what I had done to the heat exchanger and it makes yours look nothing. I dont have any leaks so I pray I dont get any!
