I am looking in my repair manual to see if I can replace the sliders that are attached to the spider without removing the primary. The manual does not show how to replace these parts.

On the older clutches you can use a pick tool with a hook and get in
there and pull up on the slider and it will pull right out.

give it a shot...

No, you can not get them out without taking the clutch apart, theres a pin that goes thru them to hold them on the spider. If you have the new sliders your dealer should only charge ya about a hour labor to spilt the clutch and install them.

hey daman you changed you thought pretty quick when mrviper replied.
Thanks mrviper I seen the pin in the diagram and was not sure if the clutch would open enough just pulling the spring cap and I dont have the tool to split the clutch.

My local dealer sold me an update kit for the Vector clutch that had the same parts I needed for my 2000 SX700R. The vector kit was 30 - 40 % cheaper than buying the parts individually for the SXR. Hope this saves you a little.
