SXR700 Aaen pipes, 8dn10 with 4.5 tip and 3.1 inner, red bender spring 49/45 helix, green spring wrap 80.
Punch the throttle and rpm jumps to about 9500 to 9600 as speed climbs the rpm come down to about 9300 at WOT.
I need to be at 9000 at wot and want to hit about 8800 or 8900 when I punch the throttle and climb to peak rpm.
It would seem that I need to load up to get there. Steeper helix, more weight, change primary spring, go to 70 twist. What should I start with so I dont run around in circles.
I also think I am not shifting out.

Swap inner & outer rivets & wrap your secondary spring at 60. betcha it will be very close. When I am not 100% sure on how much weight I need I put in the biggest rivets & then if I need less rpm,s in a certain area I use a grinder & a gram scale & just grind off equal amounts from one or both rivets till I nail it.

hey Turk swap inner and outer you mean put 4.5 inner and 3.1 tip or swap both for more weight. Will this not hurt backshift or am I thinking backwards.

Thinking backwards here. A loaded tip decreases backshift but if your just gonna run lakes all day wot you want to set up that way.

I ride trails and lake so I want the backshift. Would there be a better choice of helix and spirng combo to get better preformance.
