Hi,
I recently did a engine swap on a 95 vmax 600 ST, everything is stock.
cleaned the carbs, and she fired right up.
But I can't take the choke off, even when it is warm and running or it will stall.
I followed the yamaha service manual closely.
Cleaned all jets and a/f screws completely.
floats ok, carb sync and slides ok.
air fuel screw 2 turns out (yes the o ring is still intact)
Jetting is correct at my altitude 5280 ft.
145, 55, 2nd ring on the needle.
I believe it is running very solid with the choke at 1/2, could this just be a cable adjustment?
Is the 1/2 choke compensating for a A/F issue?
I am not a master of the carb, and barely grasp the concept.
I have been searching the archives, but I have not seen a relevant posting to choke and its relation to anything adjustable.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Have you checked fuel filter? Sediment in tank? Fuel & vent line routing? Float level, Fuel Pump?
Not those then check for an air leak in base or head gasket.
She is starving for fuel for some reason.
