just wondering on the srx are the belts suppose to ride just a hair above being flush. i have a squeky clutch think the deflection might be a lil off. or just dirty.
Wash the belt with warm water and a little dishsoap, then rinse and let dry well...after check your deflection, use a straight edge across the top of both clutches and push down on the belt you should have about 1 1/4" of deflection, check your centre to centre...good luck...
Hartman Inc recommends using Ultimax belts, but you need to run the belt that fits best with your personal preferences IMO. I like the performance from the Ultimax III belts.
Did you check the wear-screws on the back side of the secondary clutch?.
If you replace the belt and squeeling occurs then you can remove the washers on those screws. The sheaves of the secondary will be forced further apart from eachother and the squeeling will go away.
If your screws are all worn out then replace them.. think they should be 21.5mm long (I could remember wrong).
I got the same thing, this passed weekend i put on a new Yamaha belt and it squeals i put the old one back on and it doesn't. Mine rides flush on the secondary with the new and old belt.? I washed it and let it dry before i put it on. Do you think the belt just needs to be broken in? I think i might have 10 miles on the new belt
I think if you have check center to center and its good
you need to adjust belt deflection its too TIGHT, remove small screws and I wonder if you have washers on them if so remove the washer. IMO
