Took both the 98 SRX and the 2001 SRX for a early season test run today and when we got back i realized my brother inlaw's 98' had 3/4 of a tank and my 01' had a 1/2 tank. Both sleds are stock except i'm runnin the 1.25 ripsaw. Also i have 650 miles and he's got around 2600. Would not think either of those to make that much difference. Not that big a deal, Just curious more than anything.

Check your power valves!
Maybe your power valves are stuck open, which will effect your fuel mileage. Maybe float bowls aren't working properly dumping raw fuel out the exhaust pipe.

We put a 1-1/4" rip saw on my kid's 2001 SX-R 600 and had to cut the lugs over the clips. It rubbed on the tunnel protectors. We also had to make a different set of front heat exchanger protectors as it rubbed on the stock ones. I know it's a different sled but, everything is the same as the SRX.
As for gas milage, my 2001 SRX uses just slightly more fuel than my kids 600. Half a gallon or less difference each time we fill up. No advice to you on why...just reference info.
