I've had a few guys asking recently about how my latest project is coming along so I thought I'd post a little update. I started building this sled using a brand new '02 SRX.
First off let me say that I've learned that you only want to start working on one sled at a time. Trying to coordinate building two sleds at a time does not work (at least for me). Trust me on this guys. One project at a time.
This SRX is what my idea of the ultimate long distance trail riding two stroke Yamaha should be. I believe it should have:
1. A strong, quiet, reliable motor that gets great gas/oil mileage.
2. Electric start and reverse for convenience.
3. Long travel front and rear suspension with plenty of adjustability built in.
4. A riding postion and ergos built for long days on the trail.
5. Plenty of extra storage for all day riding, including extra fuel.
6. A 136" track for comfort and on/off trail versatility.
7. The looks to set it off from other SRX's.
Hopefully this sled will be ready for the snow in about another two weeks. I hope to have some pics up once it's done.
