I just bought a full set of shock for my venom, they came off of an 02 viper. what kind of ride should i get from these? (ex. harder/softer from stock junk shocks) what the best shock setup for the al around rider (fast, easy ride, some jumping)

if you want them to be an improvement over what you have, you should send them out and have them revalved, the original versions dont work very good.
If you can get a set of Ohlins for the front, They work great. My Viper has Ohlins on the front and KYB in the rear. Works great.

Theyre brutal. Hard ride. If you ride sno x style all the time, no grooming , lotsa jumping they'll do. If you ride anything else their too hard. Get em revalved. Hey try em you might like them. Some guys did.
Pioneer performance in NY can take good care of you. I did the same thing with my Venom when I had it. Good people to deal with, quick turn around time.

Depends if they are the updated shock or not. You never mentioned that. I prefer the non updated due to my riding style and weight(220 lbs.) The updated shocks offer a more plush ride compaired to the nons.

they are non-updated shocks, if we ever get our snow back up here in maine I will have to take them out and give them a good test (snow left just after i installed them)... i weigh 170lbs. so hopefully i wont get bounced off like im riding a buck board.
