I have a 98 600XT twin and would like to try a 46-42 bender helix. What wieght set up should i use in the primary? I would like a engagement RPM of approx. 4000 RPM and a shift at 7800 RPM. What twist should I use on the secondary? The sled has stock gearing (23/39) One layer of head gasket removed, reed spacers and I run a 1.25 ripsaw track. I wiegh 180 lbs. ride mostly groomed trail and lakes. Or would the stock helix (47degree) be better. :winterrul

I have worked with my clutches for 3 years and have come up with a real track & trail combo. that work's well on my sled, the primary clutch has 58.7 gram weights, hauck orange spring, secondary has 47/41 helix at 90 degrees, this engages at 5200 and run's at 7860, I run a 97 600 vmax sx, 95 mph at 7.0 sec. in 660', gearing is 2.0, hope this help's!!!!!

do you have anu other helix'es?51/43 work good with 8 ab weights.a 48-42 or 49-41will work great with the stock weights that's what I use to run.

I only have those two helixs,I'll keep my eyes open for a 48-42. Should I gear the sled down one on top to compensate for the heavier track?

No that gearing is perfect.Any lower and your going to run out of gas before you get any where. There not the best sleds on gas.I would actually gear up with the stock track but twith that track keep the stock gearing.
