Hi just wondering if anyone can help with my 02 srx? DCS light has come on since I bought this machine three years ago. It flashes after 110-120kms/hr and continues to flash till I let up on the throttle. I checked it on the driveway lifted it and ran it hard... no lights! This machine has stock jets but gutted air box and boyssen rad valves, reeds and a MBRP trail can. I am hitting 98mph top speed... not impressed! I know the 01 srx pulled hard from start to finish. What's up with the 02? :o|
Oh and nothing but premium and half bottle of octane boost per tank!

I would start with putting the air box back in it, jet it to 01 specs, and put the stock can back on it - the can sounds nice, but you loose some top end with them - I've had good luck with jetting in between 01 and 02 specs and stay with some good fuel - if you still have a problem after these changes you will need to start checking power valves and the condition of your carbs - how many miles on the sled?

I would try the other items I mentioned - I've had three of these sleds and my current one is jetted in between 01 & 02 specs and I run 50/50 101 with 92 - light never comes on and it will bury the speedo!

I changed the jets in mine to those ones as i am having the same problem, didnt make a difference just affected the performance and gas mileage, light still came on on really warm days, its funny u mention that though because my sled has nearly the same amount of miles on it. Definately check the 4 bolts that hold the rad valves on, if there loose then it might let extra air in. If the above things dont work, try moving the needles up a clip position, i did this to mine as tomseal told me to, i havnt been able to test it yet though because of no snow

Skidooslayer687 - that jet change should not effect your performance or gas mileage adversely - on warm days it helps to shut off your carb heaters, but you are going to loose performance on "really" warm days unless you jet for the tempurature or put in some TPI valves - they work good

I always run with my carb heaters off, i was just saying in general changing the jets did not help at all in my situation with the dcs light coming on, and when i did jet up, there was a noticeable difference in the gas mileage, not amazingly huge or anything but it did affect it. I figured there was no point in jetting up and keeping it that way if it didnt help cure the dcs problem... maybe stuffer's problem will be fixed by jetting up, but in my case it didnt help. Even on warm days my dcs light would still come on with the richer jets in

Finally got to take it out and try it... It now pulls hard tilll 150-160 before dcs comes on. So jetting up helped... must be sucking air somewhere. Rad valves are tight, I didn't spray anything near the boots so haven't eliminated them totally! I'm back to work, two provinces away from my SRX so I'll have some troubleshooting when I get home.
