When I put a 2" track on mine I put 8-tooth extrovert drivers on it and removed the tunnel protectors so the track would not rub them. I think that was it.

I have been looking for a good cheap 144 x 16 2" paddle track for mine. ANYONE?
from what I have read the 16 wide will fit, you could go with the
136 x 16 1-3/4" with the stock 9 tooth drivers

Thanks guys, does anybody here have any personal expierence with a 16 wide on a viper? a 144x16x2 would be the perfect mountain/flatland track IMO.

Yes I have a 136" 16" 1.75" on mine. Works great, better traction and floation in deep powder! There is enough room in the tunnel with no rubbing issues. However it does require grinding down the chain case nut-serts slightly on the inside of the tunnel. Its easy to do while the track and axle are out. Then use loctite red on the chain case mounting bolts.
I also "nibbed" down some of the longer rivits sticking out, just to make sure they wouldn't rub on the track.
Depending on what type of rear drop brackets you have, they will most likely have to modified for track clearance. I have a Cat skid in mine, so my set up is a little different then most.
C-bolt posted some pic's of his modified stock Mountain viper brackets a while back. Might try a search under 16" track, they could still be in the TY system.
Aftermarket aluminum rear drop brackets may clear without mods, as they tend to be a little flatter.
