i have the same track, with all heat guards in rear, but did not have guards in the front. ice jamms in there, keep it open, take em out. you will love this track, too bad yamaha doesnt think ahead and allow for the use of studs.

I put a 1.25 ripsaw on my 02 and left the front protectors on it. I let the track wear its self down were it needed to. You can feel it rub for the first 100 miles or so. Since then I have put 3400 miles on it with no problems at all

ripsaws are the same as any other camoplast track, they need to be clipped for maximum top speed and fuel milage. if you keep the guards in, you need to clip the track. if you dont you will have to wait for the track to wear down. this sound nice but what really happens while this is going on is the front of your tunnel guards(that are plastic) burn up before your rubber track wears down. this puts the studs, if any closer to the tunnel and on some sleds ive junked tears the tunnel under the tank where the weight of the gas bows the tunnel down.
just do some measuring and clip the track, its easy to do and your top speed wont suffer.
