04 Venom

Well we picked this up at the end of the summer for the girlfriend who has no experence with sleds, this is her first year riding, last year she just rode on the back and wouldn't drive my SRX that much. ( not for beginners ) Last weekend there was enough ice to take it for its first rip. I was really surprised by this little 600, the sound and pull was awsome ( Pretty close to a Viper ). Well after i took it for the first ride ( marking out a trail for her ) I could'nt get her off it. Well her new nickname is Jenny Throttle, i asked her after a couple of hours how fast she got it up to and she told me 156 KMS. I said wow i didn't even drive it that fast. I watched her rip around and the sled itself instills confidence. I would recommend this sled to anyone ;)!

they are a decent little sled. pretty much updated body on an sxr 600. great little motor and well made, like many a yamaha is :) sharp looking sleds guys!

I think Yamaha had an over whelming supply of viper parts. I forgot they put a 600 v-max tripple in a viper chassis in 2004 considering 03 was the first year 4 stroke. They made the viper chassis from 02 all the way up to 06 which ended with the MTN viper.

Yamaha was already out with the Apex when they made the last of the vipers but made just enough venoms ans MTN vipers in 2006 to get rid of the excess parts.

The venom looks like a nice trail sled. I bet it handles like a viper but alot less power.

Nice trail sled.

pretty much a 03 sxr 600 with viper hood, belly, and trailing arms :) sxr was a sweet sled, and even better with the viper headlight, dash, and looks :)

I always liked the Venom. All the good looks of the Viper, the sweet R1 inspired gauges, R1 inspired taillight (love the dual light setup), but its really a very simple sled and very lowmaintenance. No exhaust valves to clean, no oil to change. Just keep it full of gas and oil and it will pretty much run forever.
Ive been keeping an eye out at the local Yammie dealers for a good used Venom, but Im yet to see one get traded in. If I ever see a good one get traded in, I'll jump on it without a second thought (can you say, "Yammie card"? LOL)

Nice sled!

But, I wonder what`s the difference between the viper and the venom?. It doesn`t have power valves and ?.

hmm :)

The Viper is an srx-based 700 single pipe, powervalved obviously. The venom is the 600 red-head non powervalve triple. Viper is around 120 horse, the venom/sx 600 is around 102 horse. ROCK SOLID RELIABLE though.
