Hello everyone, i was looking into purchasing a 1998 venture . it is a 600 twin and it has smart carbs. it only has 6000 kms on it and is in immaculate condition. my question to everyone is, how have the smart carbs worked out, were they good on gas or poor? are they a trouble free system or a nightmare. i just want to clarify some things before i purchase it or not...
let me know... thanks

I have a 98 Mountain Max 600 with smart carbs (along with my 2000 MM 700). The thing runs great, haven't had any problems with it other than a speedo bearing going on me. But I also don't ride it alot, just for ice fishing and as a second sled for friends.

good news about the smart carbs...
my dad just got a 97 venture DX 600 with the smart carbs.
it has 7k on it and runs pretty darn nice..although I have yet to ride it.. soon enough...
it is about time our family got a 2 up. we have 4 -1up sleds, and the GF likes to spend money on an underpowered 550fan rental 2up every year...
