Here is a progress picture of my 79 SRX. It has been 1 1/2 years and a crap load of cash, but it is now coming along pretty good, especially considering how bad it was when got it.

Lots of elbow grease, steel wool, carb cleaner, and mothers polish. Plus repainting the hood. I have worked for a year and a half in my spare time cleaning and straightening this old pc of junk out. We rebuilt the motor, put on a new clutch, new track, studs, skis, and tons of bought used parts. Finally it is starting to show improvement.

I'm redoing an '80, I gotta agree, they are a real money pit. That tunnel looks great. When do we see the engine compartment?

I will send some pics when the engine and controls are complete, hopefully in a week or so. Still need to get my guages and water pump back on, then test run it. I hope it goes good.

That is sweet! They are a money pit if you don't own your own company and drive a truck worth as much as most peoples houses!
I polished my Rupp frame with Mothers gold too, found it worked great! I used 3M syntetic scouring pads for most of it and then finally ALOT of rubbing with a rag for the first layer with the polish. Then I did a light rub with no polish. Then I put a really thin layer of polish on and lightly rubbed that in a circular motion. Then another light rub with none. It REALLY shines! It's been 2 years since I put the frame away and it still shines pretty nice.
