I got the bad news today at work that my Mastiff Bernie past away.He was only 1 and half years old and the most loving affectionate dog you could ever ask for.I requsted an autopsy to find out why he died. The vet called me tonight and told me his spleen was twisted and ruptured, basically bleed to death internally. He didnt eat much the last two days but other than that he seemed normal. This is so hard to deal with, whenever i think of him i just break down.

Sorry to hear that man, Losing pets is not an easy thing. I know what it is like.

My thoughts are with you!

i'm sorry to hear. i know what ya mean, our family just lost our dog after he got hit by a car. was a little upset because he was a 9 year old great pyranese (aka, slow mover) and the guy said he darted out in front of the car. last time i saw him fiesty enough to dart out in front of a car was 5 years ago. guy said he was under the speed limit, but i can't believe that when he hit our dog so hard he (our dog) took out the top of our neighbors mailbox flyin through the air... he was just at the vet and weighed 164 lbs.

Sorry

Sorry to hear that it's tough I had to put mine down a couple yhears ago after 11 years.I know how you feel.

Me too....Me too.... I got a 19Year Old Mut Still living but his days are running so short. Me and my father are thinking about putting him down because of the Arhritus, He can barely walk. I feel so bad about it but its so hard. My dad Cried because he felt like he had to help him by putting him down but he couldn't push himself to do it.

Just think about it, This dog has been apart of our family for 19 years! he's older then me. I dont know what were going to do when he pass's on. no dog can replace him.

BlueBlooded, Hang in there... It will be ok.

My thoughts are with you Blue.
Animals enrich our lives so much they become true members of our families. When we lose them they leave a hole that can never be filled. The pain from their loss though is really a testiment to the pleasure they brought when they were with us.

Im sorry for your loss . just the thought of our Newfie passing on brings a tear to my eye . i feel for ya man ...

Damn :( I feel you guys pain & sorry for the loses. From my previous loses "New Puppy Breath" has gone a long way to help ease the pain. I have a 11 year old Pyranese named Taz that I feel will not be around much longer :(

I am very sorry for your loss, and have fealt the loss you have. Pets become a part of your family and it leaves a large void when they are gone.

Some people say get another Dog right away and make it easier!

Some days can really suck. Just try to remember all the good times. All the stupid and destructive things they did as puppies all of a sudden seem so cute and funny at these times.

They are our best friends.

My heart goes out for you,
Greg

Thanks for the support everyone, the hurt is unbearable sometimes.I just dont understand why life is so unfair. This dog was such a good boy and he really deserved to live a long healthy life.Im not an emotional guy but ive been crying like a baby the last two days,i keep asking myself why such a devoted, innocent and loving dog got cheated on life....it just isnt right.
