I am trying to get my 01 srx set up and running after re-installing the motor and not sure how to line up the clutches as the torsion arm seems to be mounted solid and do I need to do this before installing carbs and pipes. Also any tips on oil and coolant bleeding. You guys are a big help, just don't want any problems. I did a major overhaul on this sled, just need to set it up.

This arm gives you center to center distance. Remember there is some play anyway. Ofset you must check also. You have these measurements on your clutch guard.

Oil bleeding, just loose the screw between carb 1/2. (oil line) and close after oil comes out.

For coolant bleeding you need to open screw under the seat (near rear light)

Take a look at this it will give some idea of what is needed to align the clutches...good luck..there is nothing like using the right tool for the job...

Loosen your motor mounts and wiggle your engine around till she lines up...the blue tool does both center to center and offset, I had the gold tool first and it is only an offset tool, but was nice to confirm that the offset is bang on...

To bleed the oil...If it is like my viper, then there is a bleed tube between the carbs and you just unscrew it and pull over the engine and when all the air is out, the oil pours out, replace screw..

For coolant, there is a few was to do it...on my viper I filled up everything and them rolled the engine over- without starting it and then added more and then placed a rad pressure tester on it (10-12lbs) of pressure then cracked the rear bleed screw with the rear elevated about 3 ft...pulled the engine over a few more times and then released the pressure and shook the sled up a bit...topped up the tank (cap off) and loosen the head (carb heater bleed screw) and set the sled back down...I did this a couple of times...when I first fired it up I had enough of the air out and the exchangers were all warm to hot...re bleed the sled with the front up (2-3ft) cap off and I was done...
Hope this helps...
