handwarmer quit working...measured resistance and it is open. Can I replace it with a aftermarket "hot grip" that I have sittng around, or do I have to order a OEM grip?
As long as the hotgrips have the same resistance as the stock ones you should be ok to run them with the stock wiring just wire them in the same way as the originals.

Right as long as the resistance is the same your good,,had that problem
once,one grip was hot one was only warm..

Remember these are wired in series and power flows from one to the other if the first grip is shot the second grip may not work even though it is fine. First switch the grips to make sure the grip is bad.

swapped the grips, and one is bad...thanks for the replys guys
