I just purchased a '98 700 improved SRX. Its an old grass dragger that has been sitting for 2yrs. We ran it this past summer and it needs clutching work. My buddy and I want to speed run it ( if the Ice ever thickens up in Central Wi.) It has Hauck pipes, case porting, some head work, and some clutch work. I am just looking for a place to start with gearing and clutching. The power is there, we just need to get it to the ice. Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

orange-silver-orange primary spring
14.5 rollers
8ca or 8 ab weights
green secondary spring
45-39 helix or close

This is a starting point and should get you real close.
Where are you planning on running?
Who did you buy the sled from?
I can probaly help you out on it.
 
I forgot to add its got the Hi-rev CDI box from Hauck. 1 of Pat's old techs set it up. I ran 1 of the Tri-County races,are you familiar with that circuit? I think it revs at 10,200?.?
 
yes I have grass draged for year and speed ran a couple years.I have ran grass cicuitsd nsra,msr,ussa,and lot of tri county races I gotr out of grass two years ago but I meade an apperance at two tricounty events this year.
 
We are gonna set up the sled this weekend. I'll post what kind of results we get. With these cold temps we've been having we might get some ice yet. I'll let you know when and where we are gonna run this year and you can do the same. What kind of speeds do you think we can pull?
 
what are you running for a track I wouldn't run more than 144 ice picks any more slow you down on speed runs you want to do a roll out than mash the throttle you get quicker mph.I would like to help you out sometime let me know when you run I will bring a few things along and help ya.
 
Sweeet!!! We've got our track at the campground to practice at. We have enough room there to get an idea of how the set-up works. It will probably be a little different but with no ice you run where you can. My buddies brother is a cop maybe we can get a gun and chack some speeds. Seems someone (Mark) lost his timing system so we gotta wing it. I'm not sure whats in for picks I'll have to take a look tomorrow and find out.
