Looking for help...
Just finished installing viper shocks and advant edge transfer rods in 02 srx. The problem is that there is a 3/4" gap on the underside of transfer rod where it bolts to rod attachment. Is there not enough preload on rear shock? My old transfer rods sat tight on underside. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok...
Did a quick search on the "control rod gap" and did a whole bunch of reading. Still have unanswered questions though. Should I not have like 11.5" of travel now... the control rods bottom out easily.

I started at the front, put on the front mounts and replaced the shocks. Next cranked up the center spring... this helped but I still have bigger gap on bottom. Rear shock is cranked up to within 1.5" of threads left. Should I try backing the preload right off of this shock? It was a real B**** to get as far as I did.

What is holding this machine from traveling? I read about some shim that is 1/8" thick... do I need this and where does it go. Does part #77 need to be different?

when you say, you added transfer rods, did you buy them for the srx or a long travel sled?
it sounds like the rods are made for older srx, or long travel sleds and are mounted in the stock srx location. this would cause your problem.

if this is it,then just mount the lower rod bolts through the rear hole, about 1 1/2in back, you will need nuts as you cant use the shaft in this locations.

if this is not what is happening, please post pictures.

did you lengthen out your front straps?

Thanks for the reply...
The rods that I bought are advant-edge rods for the longer travel sleds. These rods are 11.5" the difference being 2" from stock. I mounted them in the stock location. Also... I thought I had it set close, 40/60 took it for a spin and when it got back to the shop it was all gap on bottom. Somthing is changing!

I have also read quite few of your posts... thanks for all the help.
