700 Mmax engines are good engines. I put 7900 miles on a 97 & have 6500 on my 99. I don't know if you can use a Max to it's full potential in Minn. with that 2" track? The approach angle is steep (23 deg.) They improved that on the 2000 141" track. It tends to plow in deep snow. I do a lot of riding in the Mountains and it gets around just fine. A put a Camoplast Challenger under at 5000 miles. Huge improvement!

I don't know what you have ridden in the past or are anticipating. If it's stock, the thing we only do 85 MPH tops. The stock Yokohoma track may come apart if you keep it pinned for a long time. By apart I mean lose of paddles. We were coming back from Canada one time on a 200 mile trip, Fresh 5" fluff on trail, had it pinned the last 60 miles. When loading on the truck I noticed 20 paddles had left all thier other buddies. I talked with the dealer, I did not realize that tracks could build enough heat that the compound gluing it together breaks down and Yoko's are bad for that.

That being said, I am very happy with the Mmax's They have never left me stranded. You may consider a 1.25" track if you run trails and lakes a lot.

Some improvements: Aftermarket taller/re-enforced steering post (Mount. Performance)
Better rebuildable gas in rear.
Simmons skis on the trails.
