Ripsaw track on 03 Viper ER

Question,

I want to put a 1 1/4" ripsaw track on my stock 2003 Viper ER.
It appears that the tunnel protectors might interfere with track.
The track is clipped every third and has all windows open.

Will I have clearance issues?

You will have to remove the tunnel protectors, thats what I did when I put in the ripsaw.You just can't stud with this setup without changing to 8 tooth drivers and putting your tunnel protectors back on.This is by the book so to speak, there have been some discussions on here about studdding with 1.25 and 9 tooth drivers , but its risky in my opinion.Some have trimmed the track around the protectors also, feel free to ask any other questions.

drill out all the rivets that hold them in. you will have to remove the gas tank and the seat to do this. you will also have to remove the front heat exchanger protector.

I Bought An "02" Viper Last Year And The Guy I Got It From Put On A 11/4 Ripsaw And Never Took Off The Front Protectors And It Wore Groves In The Track Were It Was Hitting. Replaced And Gone To A 1 Inch With 144 Gold Diggers. "wow" Ive Got To Remember To Hang On After Ive Had A Couple Trail "pops"

Ed you may have to grinf off the heat exchanger protectors.

just clip the track to clear. then if you stud it you wont just wish you hadnt removed them you wont have.

if you want studs, cut the track down 1/8in, then install woodys 1.175 studs, they will stick past the lug 1/4, i know the math doesnt work, in reality, it does.

I think I will clip the track and preserve protectors.

It appears that the track nubs only have to be shortened over the clips, to clear the tunnel protectors. Will this also clear the heat exchanger protector?

Do I just cut off the rubber nub, or grind off with Dremel?

i used an end clip tool (like a sidecutters, but @90*), actually for crimping oetiker clamps on hose, worked perfect. Took off about 5/16" on the nubs right where they rubbed the excahnger protectors.
