finally bought one

try recovering it yourself, i had a 1979 exciter 440 with the same seat, go to a fabric shop, get the material and all you need is a air stapler, costed $25.00, its easy, just a suggestion...

any ideas where to start to look at for the suspension being froze up? Ill probably but it on a stand and spray it down with wd40 and see what happens.

You can also find a local upholsterer, I had a couple of those made by a guy here for about $50 a piece. This is sewing the entire seat cover the same as original which looks a lot better than simply stretching a new piece of fabric across it. He used the old seat cover (even in it's torn state) as a pattern. I did the removal and reinstall of the cover myself, but I have the tools and a little upholstery experience. I would have sewn it myself, but don't have a heavy duty machine, nor the skills needed. I also supplied the fabric which can be obtained from some of the mail order sled accesory shops like Dennis Kirk, ShadeTree, etc.

If you do buy the fabric locally make sure it is marine grade, or you will be redoing it soon.

There where no grease fitting on the ET's rear suspension take it apart and grease it if you can weld ? weld nuts all cross shafts drill a hole inside nut thread a zerk fitting into the nut you will never have to take it apart again .

i saw a78-79 srx suspension on ebay, is this a better unit or the same as my 79 enticer

My 1980 is only a 250 but other then yours having the 1 extra cylinder and plug,... the body and decals are the same...this spring I plan to remove the seat and recover it..my wife does all the upholstry work..too bad you don't live closer to me...remember these old sleds already sit on the ground, not a lot of up and down to the suspension..I'm already responding to your other thread

340 Enticers use a similar back end as the SRX's and Exciters so the tracks and suspensions will interchange. The Exciter seats (1978-79) should fit too. 250's and 300 Enticers use a shorter tunnel with shorter track and different suspension that has steel rails. No suspensions, tracks or seats will interchange between them and the 340's.

I wish I could get sleds for what they go for in the US! People want like $800 for worn out junk with spray bomb custom paint.
