Hi guys/girls, first post here
working on a friends (ok girl friends) snowmobile which is a really nice 87 Exciter. No handlebar warmers however. Does the stator on this put out enough juice to run the warmers? I have to keep the girlfriends hands warm you know
Thanks in advance

Take the cover off the under side of handle bars and look for a Black wire with a Yellow stripe this should be the positive 12v for hand warmers and a solid black for the ground (do Not use a frame ground) Per my Clymers manual the 87 had optional grip warmers.

That sled had no problem whatsoever powering a set of Hot Grips. Had one, put Hot Grips on it and never had any issue with it.
I don't know if I should admit this, but I found out the sled does have handwarmers!
I was about to start putting the handwarmers on, when I noticed wires going to the hand grips. HUMMM I said to myself.
But there is no switch? Then I really start looking. Underneath the handlebar pad is a switch! A three position switch non the less. Kind of a out of the way place for this switch if you ask me, but hey it saved me some time.
So, I'll just have to tell the GF, yep I put on hand warmers for you, doesn't that look like a factory installation
Should be worth some brownie points
