On a 98 700 SX Bender clutch kit, otherwise stock. I notice that the primary clutch looks like the top 1/2 inch looks like the belt has never even touched it. The rest of the face has a dull finish and the top 1/2 inch is shiny and new looking. Is this normal, or does this mean that the primary isn't shifting out all the way?

Mine is about 1/4" from the top.Yours might not be shifting all the way then.Or your belt is one size under or something.Check to make sure you have the right belt and that centre to centre to correct.
