Anyone have a good set up for these pipes?? Sled is relatively stock, reeds and notch mod, air box opened. No other mods to speak of on the engine. I have stock weights aswell as 8ca's. Any help would be appreciated to get to a decent starting point as I have no information on these pipes. Clutching? Jetting ?

What year is your sled (is it studded). What do you want to do with it. Lake race, trail ride, grass drag or mountain climb. Turk will have the best input. I have these on my 01' SXR700 and my setup would be way different than what you have. Wait and see what Turk responds with. No matter what you need to add more info about your sled and riding style.

Ride hard trail and lake racing.
Sled is studded 144 carbide tipped on a stock track.
I may put my speed track on it if we don't get anymore snow. .500 inch with 144 chisels. My main concern is finding a close starting point for carb settings and finding out where these pipes make power. after that I will fine tune and hopefully get a strong set up though testing.

Has nobody here run these Pipes on there 700 SX? Just need recommended jetting and clutching as per the manufacture even!!

I am running 147.5 mains across with 47.5 pilots. 1.0 air jet. Clutched to run 9000 RPM. I am at 245' - 2000' ASL. 147.5's are bit fat but safe. I also run a tempa flow to lean it out on warmer days. I have remote fuel screw adjusters. Mostly I am at 1.5 - 2 turns out. Start at 1.5 and see where that gets you.

I can't remember my complete setup since I have not rode this sled in 2 years. Even though I put all new shocks and a full bushing kit and new bearings all the way around. I got my new apex GT and this one stays nice and clean waiting for some local snow. I have run lots of stuff in it. 8AB's 8CA's and I think the 8DN-20's (SRX weights) are in it now. They have been the best as far as top speed and tunability. 8CA's were the best hole shot weights but die off after 85 mph. I have never tried Turk's 89L setup but have heard good things about it. I would try that if you were to try anything. Look in the clutching section and you should be able to find what you need. For a helix I like a 49/43 with my current setup. I can't remember what springs I have in it. I am also running a 21 top tooth gear. This all got me to 110 mph on the radar gun, no studs and a 1.25" track.

vmax-sx (jabber) why don't you try and 8bu-00 setup with a 49\43? Maybe a stock vmax4 rivot configuration in the weights?

I was thinking the same thing!!! This engine piped with the little work I've done should be able to pull that weight. I will try it. How many sleds you bringing to Alliston Josh?? Any going top be on the bottle? I just blew the track apart on my MAX!!! Looking for a replacement as we speak. Glad it didn't come right apart on a high speed run.

Talk to CB performance on here, nice guys and can help you make an educated decision on what would best meet your needs for a track.
