My buyer called back saying that all insurance companies want the sled to be appraised before they insure it for fire/theft. The guy told me if the sled is 15 years old or more, it's considered vintage, or something along those lines. Does this sound right? He said he called quite a few companies and was told the same thing. His area has had things stolen from it, so he wants theft on the machine and isn't sure about going through with the purchase anymore.
So, my sled will be on Autotrader Thursday.

Have him get it appraised then, That's buyers issue not yours.

Port's rihgt; not your problem-that is the buyer's responsibility. Throw it on eBay-you'll get more $$ for it as more folks should see it than the local Auto Trader.

I don't think he wanted to do the extra work. Ahh well, it's on the trader and I've have two replies already since it came out yesterday. Shouldn't be a problem to sell when they come look for it. I would have had a sale at 1600, but there's no way I can let this beauty go for that. It seems unfair. I'm looking to get 1750-1800 I'd say.

I would call insurance companys in his area to find out if he is telling the truth. Just call an Insurance co, and ask what it would cost. Then that will tell you if he is lying or not.

Is it worth insuring an older machine for anything besides liability? That can be a rider on your homeowners...
