Turk Whats a good set up for a 2002 SXR600. This is for the wife. She is not a aggressive rider but I take it once in a while and it just seems to be a dog . It kind of bogs out when you nail it of the start. I think the secondary is shifting out to fast. Once it hits 6500 rpm then it pulls better. Engagement is at 4-4200 and tops out at 9000. I think everything is stock but I have not pulled it apart to look.

You got a carb issue; probably not clutching. Check pilots. Change inner rivet to a 4.5 gram & it works well.

It idles and drives fine, just that between 5500 and 6500 it has no pull. I will clean the carbs and make sure everything is to spec. Just waiting for my manual to arrive..

thanks

Sorry; with a can all bets are off. Clean carbs; remove can & get back to me. I hate @$%&^%! cans!

I am waiting for the stock can to arrive. I took the carbs off tonight and they looked spotless. Cleaned them anyway. I also looked at the reeds for good measure they were good. The seconday is stock, the spring looks to be new no signs of wear or rust wrapped to 80 degrees. Same with the primary spring looks new.. I haven't taken the clutch off yet to check the weights and rollers. The belt is wore so I will need to replace that. We are going riding this weekend so I can test it again with a new belt..

Turk would a 48/42 helix be any good for this sled.
