Anyone have a good running Price Performance 1000cc with SRX bottom end? Just purchased one and I would really like to know what carbs would work well on this set-up. Looking at some PSI 42s any thoughts?
I would also like to know any general thoughts on this motor.....any info would be great. Please don't hesitate to comment good or bad.
Thanks.

I assume that you are running a stock stroke? If you are going to use the Price for trail riding, then the 42's should work just fine, and have the flexibility for easy tuning. Those PSI's flow at about 45, but still have good throttle response on the bottom end. If you are going to race only, then that motor probably should run 50's or 52's, but would be sluggish on the bottom end unless you are launching the sled with some wicked clutching. I run 42 PSI's on my 835 and they seem to respond well on the bottom end and flow good on the top end. We ran a Price for a short time with 39.5's but then sold the motor for other reasons: mainly it didn't pull the horsepower we thought it would. We feel that the PSI's are good carbs, and don't understand why alot of the guys on this site don't run them. Pricey? Yea, they are, but the performance is there, in my opinion, especially on the stock stroke stuff. They are actually 42.5, I think. And the "D" port design built into it helps the big carb flow better on the bottom end, unlike the traditional roundslide. Just my two cents worth.

Consider CPC 44mm carbs. They are phenominal for tuning, and have alot of nice features. They're not cheap, but about the best you can buy. You can get them with either brass or aluminum slides, and they use all Mikuni brass. Each circuit is tuneable seperately. They are excellent for trail or race applications. Check them out. Good luck finding a used set though....

I would'nt go any bigger than a 44 if it is stock stroke. I have a price stroker that I just race and 48 trons are big enough.
