I'm installing a 144" Mountain Performance kit in my 01 sxr. I having trouble setting the track tension. If I set it to what MPI calls for .75" with 22lbs the suspension will not flex when I set it down. If I have 3 to 4 " of droop then the suspension will flex and the suspension tightens up the track when compressing. MPI has been of no help to me, I call them but the boss is too busy and none of them never call me back. They are nice as pie on the phone of no help. Can anyone HELP me out here?
TIA
Glen
I'm usually on the sxr forum but seeing as this is a long track issue I thought that I would try here.

Post some photo's if you can, might make it easier to spot the problem.

Here are some pics. With the track droop set at 1.5" no weight and the sled on the floor, when I sit on the bumper it will only go down approx 3" before the track gets tight and stops it. The first three pics are with the sled hanging in the air and the other two are with the sled sitting on the floor. Notice that the limiter strap stays loose all the time. This kit moves the skid back 3" but I have rechecked the placement of the mounting holes and they are the same as the stock mounting location.

Can't really see for sure, but do you have a set of wheels that are hitting something somewhere?
When I did the conversion on my '98 MM, I had to remove a set of boogies...................been too long age............can't remember which ones.

?
I don't know but usually when you lift your sled off the ground the coupler has gap on the top side not the down side like you are showing. Also if your track is loose the limiters at the front should be streched not collapsed. Looks almost like your track is extremely tight that you have coupled your suspension and collapsed your front suspension when jacked up. All 3 mount points are back 3" and the same distance from top of tunnel as OEM at each mount point?

w arm
after closer inspection of your pictures isn'y your W arm on upside down? Shock mount shoud be behind top shaft of W arm and limiter straps should be on top of assembly.

No there aren't any wheels touching.
Good job Glid, I had just noticed that too.
Yes, W-Arm is upside down. Do you have drop-kit aswell?

OK maybe next time I should pay more attention on assembly, had the arm out to brace it because that was the second time that it cracked. I really appreciate you noticing that mistake of mine. Do you know how many times I laid on the floor stareing int that suspension, couldn't see the forest for the trees.
