Hey guys looks like I might actually get a chance to get my first ride of the year tommorro. My question is should I need to readjust my track since I had the rear axle out to replace some bougie bearings or should I tighten it to spec and not worry about it. I also was wondering where I could buy a spring scale to measure the track deflection. I also have one more thing. I didnt do a very good job of remembering how many turns I made to loosen up the tensioner bolts so I counted the number of threads showing and it looked to be good as far as my eyes could tell. What do you go by?

A good rule of thumb is about an 1/2" sag with no pull, which is about equal to Yamaha's specs using 22lbs pull and about a 1" to 1 1/8" sag. Make sure your track is running on center.Did mine last night. If it is to much to the right, tighten the right side bolt to bring it back over.A little at a time of course.Rotate track a few times and re-check.Do this until centered and sag is good.Take your time and do it properly.I was ratcheting earlier,so I had to set up since my track was to loose. If you got the time and patience, you can back off one turn at a time..then run sled to see if any ratcheting is occuring.Once you get to that point where it does, turn adjusters back the other way and you got it.If you got the time.Me I'll just leave it for now since no ratcheting is happenening.

dont go by the track sitting in the tunnel look and the clips on the track and how far away they are from the slides.

Probably while you were writing this I ended up getting it that night after about 2 hours of patience. What is the exceptable room for error here? I cant imagine that there is anyway to get both sides one 100% the same but you can probably have a few more turns on one side? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I basically gave up counting turns on the bolt which someone once told me. I just used a tape measure to get the track as even as possible on both sides using the rails for my measurement.bluemonster1 said:A good rule of thumb is about an 1/2" sag with no pull, which is about equal to Yamaha's specs using 22lbs pull and about a 1" to 1 1/8" sag. I don't count the turns, I just use the nubs on the inside of the track to make sure it is centered based on the slides.
