I just bought a 2002 viper and am totally new to it. When I went to take it out for the first ride, it would do a slight backfire and then when you would try to give it gas it would sputter and a light on the dash would be lit up and blinking. The light is a triangle with a exclamation mark in the center of it. At one time there was also a master brake cylinder looking light lit up for a while to. That on doesn't come on anymore though. I called my local Yammi dealer and they said it sounds like the TORS sensor. I bypassed it and it seems to work ok. The light still comes on once in a while but it doesn't sputter when you give it gas. I was also told that my timing might be retarded with the sensor junk and bypassed. Is this true? Also, is my TORS sensor out?
