LIFE MEMBER ONLY ONCE!!!
Well with countless hours of clutch tuning,I finally agree that I have the setup I want. Here is what my final results are.In primary clutch I am using 8DN-20 weights with 2.7 g both holes.Y-G-Y spring which is stock.Am now using 8DN (OEM) belt and never switching to another brand. In the secondary have wrapped at 70 right now.Have Dalton 51/43 Helix installed with Green Spring.
I had some sort of ratcheting or grinding before, especially when I pinned it in the powder field, didn't sound good.Spent time and retensioned my track.Have 9/16 " sag with no pull which is about equal to 1 3/8" with 22 lbs pull.
Did some adjustments to my front shocks, tightened them up to raise front end a bit.Tightened center rear suspension shock also.Limiter straps are at 10mm minimum adjustment. When sit on the sled you should have 50/50 space between the nylon washers on the transfer rods. I opened it up just an 1/8th more. With all these adjustments got my front end up from 14 1/4" floor to under bumper height to about 15.5 inches.I lost over an inch when I installed my new USI ski's and mounting plates. So I am ahead here, could drop it a tad if I want to soften the front end suspension, but I'll leave it for now. Will be doing some big time jumping and want a little stiffer in front.
The TEMP-A-FLOW seems to be running great, plugs a good color when I checked them.
And I finally put back my stock modded can and took off the SNO-STUFF Can,really sounds good again, and probably picked up a few HP.
DID I MENTION with my clutching set up I have now I am launching at pure 8200 RPM's and climbs to 8600-8650 RPM,right where I want it. Man can I ever feel that sled pull hard from standstill. When I hit the powder fields and pin it,engine keeps at a consistent 8500 RPM's.That is wicked and feels great.Backshifts nicely to.Clutches aren't overly hot, touch with fingers for 4-5 seconds and my fingers don't get burnt.Turk said that in time the 8DN belt will get warm and the sled will loose some rpm,so I don't mind it wot at 8600 to 8700,if it will loose some rpm,I will still be in range.
ANY HOOT gone to buy some gas cause I will be sledding all afternoon and LOVING IT.To all you guys who have helped me in the past dealing with issues...THANKS ALOT EH!!!!!
You know what is coming next...GOT to get my hands on an SRX and that will happen very soon.Been searching and have spotted a couple locally.Working on one,guy went to Florida for a week, will have to wait till he is back. Then I will be asking you guys for all kinds of help on the SRX...HERE WE GO AGAIN...but it is worth it when you work on something and it puts a smile on your face and you forget about all the struggles you went thru to get there.
