Hi guys. I'm new to this forum. I'm having trouble with my grip and thumb warmers on my 01 700 MM. I bought new warmers to install but after checking the resistance on the new warmers compared to the old warmers, it is the same. Also, checked the varible resistors according to the service manual. Looks o.k. Checked load control relay. O.K. Checked magneto according to service manual. O.K. No heat, very bad in our climate. Please, if anyone has run into this trouble, give me some advice on what else to check out. I soon might have to take it to the dealership, however, that is the last resort! Much appreciated.

I think they go from the stator to the regulator by your right foot well!01sxr700 said:Is there power there? power goes through the CDI box.
Yes, via regulator. Do you have your key in second position?

By the Electrical diagram that I have infront of me which is for the 01 it shows it going thru the CDI box L/W supplies the Thumb And hand warmers from the cdi L/W from the H warmers back to the cdi Y/W for the T warmer back to the cdi. Y/R for cdi to H warmwers, Lg for cdi to T warmers.
I'm off sledding for the week, Hope I have fun. haha.

I'm assuming it should be 12V on the hand and thumb warmers from the CDI box. Am I right?

Well, it looks like my trouble is the C.D.I. The dealership is going to order a new one and try it. That way, if the C.D.I. is not the trouble, then I'm not liable for it. Am I the only one that has seen this problem?
