Unsure if this has been discussed to Death...but I picked up a set of
Modded Air Ducts with the powder screens on them..and noticed the
fella redirected the ducts to allow more airflow into the top of the air Filter...
To me this seems pretty straight forward...but after looking at the stock
yamaha approach...it doesn't even look like the "Forced Air" actually works
properly...
Curious if others have noticed this?

yamaha's theory was once the sled is up to speed pressure will build under the hood to give you the 2-3hp. it is not a true forced air induction system.

Yeah...OK that sorta makes sense...the flow of air actually heads down into the Brake and Clutch area which I can see building the pressure but almost acts like a drag aswell...However, I noticed the simple cut mod actually flows it directly into the air box giving it more of a forced air effect...
I'm sure allot have noticed this and I remember reading something related a few years back...I'm guessing the "Pressure" way makes it safer than driving at -25 the mod way...

i would think that running a sled at 50mph in 0 degree temps stratight on the air box would make the sled a little hard to jet properly. it would be like air jetting with the tpi valves but direct pressure in the airbox.

Yeah...thats what I'm thinking aswell...it would kinda lean it out..especially riding into the wind on WOT lake runs...hmmm...maybe the lil mod might not be the best idea...
But I've gotta try it, but your words are making sense fer sure...Thankyou
