I just received this gasket. I plan on having CPR machine my stock head and get all cylinders at same compression. Here are the questions.
1.) What type of compression increase would you might see by removing 1 layer?
2.) How about 2 layers?
3.) This thing has 3 pieces to it. Since I have never seen a stock Yamaha head off a 3 cyl. "ever", If i want to remove 1 layer, which 2 do I use? It is steel swandwiched by two paper gaskets.
I guess i am wondeing what combo's do I use if I drop layers.

Cooling?
Are you looking for better cooling? If so you should think about finding a set of Billot Mega power heads!!!!

I can't answer your questions about the Bender gasket since I haven't used one, but if it's the same type of material as the Viper stock gasket, I removed the middle layer last year with a stock motor/exhaust, and gained about another 5 lbs. of compression. This year I installed the Mega-Power Billet heads that jtssrx mentioned, along with some SLP pipes. With the trail inserts I was at 145lbs. This was a great, reliable combo.
